An observation that “Fast and Furious” seems to be winning the race today and that Aesop’s concept that “Slow and Steady” wins the race no longer is true. So I show Hair winning the race not Turtle. Then I used the idea of “Slow and Steady” and “Fast and Furious” and allowed those ideas to control the process. The idea of “Slow and Steady” forced me to paint turtle with oil paint, a slow process of many layers and slow drying time painted in weeks; vs, The idea of “Fast and Furious” led me to the use of spray cans and stencils for the depiction of Rabbit painted in 10 min.
